Choir Requirements

Journey Choir Requirements 

Journey Choir members are individuals who desire to serve regularly in the worship ministry at the Journey.  They see their role as a key contributor to an ongoing worship ministry.  To participate in the Journey Choir, you must be a member at the Journey or currently pursuing membership through the Gospel Classes. 

A member of the Journey Choir commits to one quarter (3 months) of attending as many rehearsals and worship services as possible in that quarter AND finding a substitute choir member from the Journey Supplementary Choir when attendance at a scheduled choir activity is not possible. A member of the Journey Choir has the opportunity at the end of each quarter to continue as part the Journey Choir or to move into the Supplementary Group.  As well, members of the Supplementary Choir have the opportunity to move into the Journey Choir at the beginning of the new quarter.  The purpose of having these requirements for Journey Choir members is so that there will be continuity and consistency for rehearsals and performances - to ensure that there will always be steady number in the choir.  The Journey Choir will accept new members in January, April, July, and October.

Journey Supplementary Choir Requirements

Journey Supplementary Choir members are individuals who desire to serve occasionally in the Journey Choir, and may sing as often as they wish. They see their role as supportive to the ongoing worship ministry. To participate in the Journey Supplementary Choir, you must be a regular attender at the Journey. 

Members of the Journey Supplementary Choir commit to singing as they are able with the Journey Choir during the regularly scheduled choral activities and to helping the Journey Choir members by being on a substitution email list for Journey Choir members who are unable to attend a regularly scheduled choral activity.  Members of the Journey Supplementary Choir are eligible to join the Journey Choir as long as they are a member or pursuing membership at the Journey.  To remain in the Journey Supplementary Choir, you must participate in one choral activity, as an additional singer or substitute, every six months, or once every two quarters. The Journey Supplementary Choir is always open to new members or to former members who wish to rejoin the ministry.
