Milestones, Family Ministry

Milestones, the Journey's family ministry, takes its name from a practice in the Old Testament. The ancient Israelites often built pillars of stone to mark significant events in their journey with God. In fact, God often commanded the Israelites to build these pillars to mark what God had done there. Then, as these families walked by these "milestones," they would tell their children about what God had done for them there and what he promised to do in the future. It was one of God's ways of anchoring the Israelite families in his work and vision for them.

At the Journey, the Milestones ministry purposes to come alongside families to help them live the gospel and experience family life in a God-honoring way. In Journey Kids, we seek to engage kids every week with an authentic, life-changing encounter with the gospel. In our Journey Student Ministries, Launch and Engage, we seek to engage students with a positive peer community and leadership that will help preteens and teens live out the gospel in real and practical ways. Our Milestone events, forums, and blog and designed to give parents regular instruction from God's word and community (parenting is, after all, life's most demanding task).
