Deacons

There are dozens of leaders who hold the office of deacon at The Journey.

The deacons' mission is to serve and care for the people of The Journey and to handle many of the practical needs of the church so that the elders are able to focus on spiritual leadership, counseling, teaching, and equipping.

Some of the deacon responsibilities include serving communion; leading the greeting, parking, and ushering teams; helping to manage church finances; meeting with newcomers, people seeking information about The Journey, or people with spiritual questions; hosting dinners for new members; providing benevolence and counseling for people in need; praying together for the church; and helping to maintain the facilities.
