Family
I have been married to my beautiful wife Cindy for over 26 years.  We have known each other for 40 years! Cindy is a freelance Court Reporter and has been for 15 years. I have two great children. My son Michael and his wife Lacey live in Sugar Land Texas, where Mike is a Youth Pastor at Sugar Land Bible Church. My daughter Amanda and her husband Dan live here in St. Louis and attend The Journey. Amanda works part-time for Missouri Baptist Medical Center and also is attending college. I have two grand puppies Digby and Gracie both who I adore. Cindy's mom Dianne and my parents Lonnie and Judy as well as our siblings all live here in the area.

What The Journey Has Meant to Me
The Journey has been a place that has encouraged, stretched and challenged me.  I know that over the past year God has used the people and ministry of The Journey to really change my character to help me prepare me for ministry.  The opportunity to serve the church in this intern capacity is a wonderful privilege and a joy to my heart.

Quote or Advice
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in; their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. - Elizabeth Kubler Ross

Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm. - Sir Winston Churchill

What I Enjoy
I enjoy music especially southern gospel music, being outdoors taking in God's amazing creation while fishing or hunting, spending time with my wife and kids, watching sporting events, being with good friends and sharing life with others, coconut cream pie, reading and most of all serving the Lord.

Where I Grew Up and What I Did As A Kid
I grew up here in St. Louis.  Up until the sixth grade we lived in Berkeley Mo. in North County.  This is where my wife and I met at the tender age of 5.  I loved playing baseball and street hockey, SPUD and flashlight tag and of course kickball.  My teenage years were spent in Hazelwood/Florissant area also in North County.  My main job was to hang out with my friends.  We did a lot of sewer sitting and hanging out in the best equipped basement we could find with a pool table, ping pong table, stereo etc.  In the summer we spent a lot of time pitching horseshoes and swimming.   I grew up playing the steel guitar and a few chords on the guitar as well.  Family camping vacations are some of my favorite memories.

Favorite Reads or Films
Westerns, fiction mystery and theology books.  I love Western movies, animal documentaries and musicals.

Hope for The Journey
That we will not ever become so enamored (with ourselves) at what God is doing here at The Journey that we get in His way.  Also, that people are assisted in preparation for marriage, marriages are strengthened and hurting marriages are healed, so we might see healthy relationships within our church.
