Night Rangers
The Night Rangers are a team of folks who work together to help others by promoting the Gospel, and committing ourselves to helping other people through building relationships.
We believe two things really passionately:
1) Hearing and believing the Gospel is how people come into a relationship with God. Everyone should get the chance to hear the Gospel clearly explained to them (if they want to hear it). The Gospel is the Good News about how Jesus did everything it takes for people to go to Heaven and know God now. The Gospel makes our hearts melt, and our lives soar.
2) Those who believe the Gospel need to (and increasingly want to) usher in God’s Kingdom by finding creative ways to show love toward every living person as much as possible, as often as possible. The practical ways to go about this are virtually endless, often intimidating, and entirely worth pursuing.
So that’s what we try to do. We’re still learning how, but we think we’re making head-way. We’ve been at this, in some form or another, since the fall of 2005. It’s been quite an adventure.
Our Plan
Over the past few years the Lord has led us into a simple-yet-effective strategy. We get together every week and go to the same inner-city neighborhood, called McRee-town. We meet new people, make friends, share the Gospel, and talk to people about their lives. Sometimes we find people who need a better job. We help them find one. Other folks are having problems with family or drugs. We figure out how to help them. Still others have homes without heat. We pray, and the Lord provides us with new furnaces, and paid power bills. It's amazing. It's God.
We meet lots of people and ask them if they would like to hear about The Gospel. Some people say “No,” but most are interested and want to talk. Whether people are interested the Gospel or not, we try to help them. We've made quite a few friends. Other's don't know what to make of us! But week after week things get a little better for us and many of those we serve.
