Isaiah 61:1-3
"1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor,
and the day of vengeance of our God;

to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,

I am continually aware of how sinful I am and grateful that Christ, the glory and the lifter of my head, has made it possible by His sacrifice on the cross for me to receive his righteousness. It is still an amazing fact after all these years.How long have you been at The Journey?
I started attending on January 23, 2005. I knew almost immediately it was the place where I was suppose to serve and worship Christ.What ministry are you involved in?
I was a volunteer in the Hanley Road offices for 4 1/2 years. On February 1, 2010
I became a part-time staff member.What is hard and/or good about serving at The Journey?
It is all good for me, but there is an awareness of how hard the elders, deacons, volunteers, and staff work to organize the weekly worship services and spread the Gospel.
