Questions

  • What is your favorite bible verse?
Philipians 1:6: "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." I love this verse because it gives me so much hope. God sent His Son to make a way for me to know and love Him. He will continue to work in me, making me more like Him, until one day He returns and redeems all things and makes all things new.
  • What is following Jesus like these days?
Following Jesus is wonderful and hard all at the same time. It is wonderful because in Him is all of the peace, grace and strength that I need. Following Jesus also means suffering, growing and learning, too. Sometimes those things can be really tough, but the beauty is that God never stops working and He is patient with us while we try to seek Him.
  • How long have you been at The Journey?
I've been coming to the Journey since fall/winter 2006. I became a member in the summer of 2007.

Favorites

  • Books: My favorite books are East of Eden by John Steinbeck; Mrs. Mike by Nancy and Benedict Freeman; The BFG by R. Dahl; the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling; and any John Grisham legal thriller.
  • Films: I love to watch movies. Some of my favorites are: The American President; An Affair to Remember; You've Got Mail; Shawshank Redemption; When Harry Met Sally; and the list goes on....
  • Cities to Visit: I love traveling!! My favorite city on the planet is Paris, France. If I could be sitting in a cafĂ© on the Left Bank reading a book and drinking a diabolo pĂȘche right now I'd be the happiest girl on the block. Some of my other favorite cities are: Vienna, Austria and San Sebastian, Spain. If you haven't been there yet you should go!

So, Tell Me...

  • What is your vision for your campus? I hope that The Journey continues to be a place where people are loved, cared for and always pointed towards Jesus. I hope to see The Journey Tower Grove help change the image of the church in our city; that people see Jesus instead of an institution.
  • What is your most memorable travel experience? I was once almost kicked off a train at 3am in the middle of Slovakia. It's a great story that involves Poland, a woman named Helga and must be told in person.
