Questions

  • What is your favorite bible verse?
I refuse to place a certain verse over and above the entire revelation of Scripture and out of it's context. The more i view the Scriptures as a unified whole the greater the growth in my own life.
  • What is following Jesus like these days?
Following Jesus "these days" is no different than following Jesus in "any day". Our culture has decided to make it something it is not, but that doesn't change the objective reality of who Christ is and what we are called to as a result of his person and finished, perfect work. Following Jesus is true freedom, which is actually freedom from slavery to sin and a new "enslavement" to righteousness. How that plays out in different cultures at different times will vary, but the core is submission to Christ's Lordship founded in the finished work of Christ in all areas of life out of a new heart, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, for the sake of the glory of the Lord.
  • How long have you been at The Journey?
I have been at the Journey for about 5 1/2 years, but only serving for about 2 years.
  • What ministry are you involved in?
I am the Service Director of the HR evening service. On top of that, I participate in some teaching and preaching.
  • What is hard and/or good about serving at The Journey?
It's the church. It's jacked up, but it's Christ's bride. I don't have the room to display the broken beauty that entails.
