Questions

  • What is your favorite bible verse?
Galatians 2:20. "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." This verse is a constant reminder that my life isn't my own. I live for Christ not because of an obligation, but because he loved me so much that he suffered and died on my behalf when I did not deserve it.
  • What is following Jesus like these days?
Is a constant reminder of the gospel and challenging myself to think of others rather than myself. It is reminding myself that I am not my own but I am Christ's.
  • How long have you been at The Journey?
    Since January 2009
  • What ministry are you involved in?
    Journey Kids at Tower Grove
  • What is hard and/or good about serving at The Journey?
It is great serving with people who love Christ and to see their love of Christ manifested in their service to others. It is humbling to see how staff members care for others. It is hard working within a large church with multiple campuses and with such a large staff. Trying know who everyone is and what they are responsible for is at times difficult.

So, Tell Me...

  • I grew up in Carterville, IL which is a town in between Carbondale and Marion. I have great memories growing up. Life consisted of believing I was Superman with a t-shirt and cape, playing baseball, riding my bike and spending the night in my tree house.
  • What is your goal as a parent? My goal as a parent is to raise my children to have a confidence in their salvation. I do this by teaching them about the gospel at every opportunity. This this through reading the Bible together and talking about God at times as we live life together.
